“Believe In You”, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Galupura Central, conducted a psychosocial support programme at Jinaraja Girls’ School, Gampola, on 26th and 27th January 2026.
The programme reached 1,000 students from Grades 6, 9, and 10, O/L (December and February batches), A/L (August batch), as well as junior and senior prefects & Teachers.The sessions were conducted under the theme “Healing Minds and Rebuilding a Resilient Personality”, a programme designed by Believe In You.
The main objective of the project was to provide immediate, accessible, and culturally appropriate psychosocial support to communities affected by the Cyclone Dithwa disaster.
Based on a prior needs assessment and study, the programme was tailor-made to suit different age groups, ensuring relevance and effectiveness for each student category.

Very positive feedback was received from students, teachers, and the school principal, highlighting the impact and relevance of the programme.
A follow-up session will be conducted during the first week of March 2026, focusing on students and adults identified as most in need of continued psychosocial support.
